As a young girl, Carla moved to England when her father Francesco had been offered a job as a professor of tropical medicine at University of Manchester.

As she grew up, she developed a fascination with her home country, and one summer as a teenager, she decided to work in her uncles restaurant in a mountainous Tuscan village. While working there, she met and fell in love with a local Italian boy called Cliff, and after a summer romance Carla came back to England and found herself missing him terribly.

She didn't miss him for long, as soon after, in a grand romantic gesture Cliff flew over to England to declare his love for Carla and that he couldn't live without her. Their passionate and intense romance continued, then... in typical flamboyant Italian fashion, Cliff proposed to Carla. And Carla, naturally said yes. 

Carla's parents thought they were too young and naive to make things work - but the 25 years (and counting) they've spent happily married and 2 smart, beautiful daughters proved the naysayers wrong.

Carla's passion for cooking, baking and hospitality led to her and her husband starting a cafe/bookstore in the affluent Cheshire town of Silvermere. Coffee&Classics was and remains a huge hit among Silvermere's residents.
