18 year old Grace Marple is the youngest daughter of the now divorced Rick and Helena, younger sister of Holly Marple, stepdaughter to her mother’s new husband Bill and older stepsister to Bill’s son Darren.
Exquisitely beautiful, but blissfully unaware of it, Grace had hid herself from the world after the tragic disappearance of her older brother Nathan. Academically gifted, Helena decided that Grace should be home-schooled, and the reclusive Grace was happy to agree to this new arrangement. Caught up in her own little world, Grace would spend most of her free time reading (especially mystery novels), gaming, and keeping in shape with morning yoga sessions, hiking and swimming. The one constant throughout Grace’s life was her older sister Holly. Grace looked up to Holly, and Holly loved her to bits and was always very protective of her and loved to spend time with her. They would watch detective shows, goof around and dress up like Charlie’s Angels and spend hours engaged in girl talk. But unfortunately for Grace, their love of detective shows would eventually evolve into a new career path for Holly, who decided to join the Police, which led to Holly moving away.
Worried about Grace being more and more socially isolated without her sister, Helena - a former top model - pulled some strings to get Grace into the modelling world. While she enjoyed the money, she disliked the shallow nature of the business, and the vain, narcissistic social climbers she had to work around.
When Grace’s stepdad is headhunted by a pharmaceutical company, it means a move to the town of Silvervale. Here Grace will be thrust into a world of books, parties, boys and sex, as she attends a top academy for her final year of high school education, and resolves to make the most of her new start.
