HOLLY MARPLE24 year old Holly Marple was the first of 3 children born to the now divorced Rick and Helena Marple, older sister of Grace Marple, stepdaughter to her mother’s new husband Bill and older stepsister to Bill’s son Darren.
Life started out well for Holly. Although her parents were in their mid-teens when they had her, there was a great support system in place for them and their new baby thanks to the wealth of Helena's extended family. When Holly was 2, her parents gave her the gift of a baby brother, and 4 years later her sister Grace was born. |
In her younger years, Holly and Nate would spend alot of time with her grandparents while her mother worked as an international model, and her father - a teenage tearaway turned soldier - was overseas with the British Army. Her Grandfather would teach young Holly and Nate all manner of useful things, like self-defence and how to work on engines, while her Grandmother would teach her how to make jam and ride horses.
When Grace was born, Helena stepped away from the modelling world, and Rick left the armed forces to start a business with his father in law. From then, the family were blissfully happy, and a real tight unit. Holly being the oldest of her siblings was looked up to and admired by Nate and Grace. A gifted athlete and academic, she set a good example to her brother and sister. Tragically, their perfect life was changed forever with the tragic disappearance of Nate. The family dealt with the tragedy in very different ways, Grace became reclusive and withdrew into her own little world, while Holly - aged 14 at the time - went off the rails and turned to excessive partying and sex with her schoolfriends. One day, an intervention from her younger sister got her back on the straight-and-narrow, she ditched the boys and the booze and became the grade A student she was destined to be.
Soon after graduating school, Holly found herself working for the local police. Her athleticism and intelligence were a great asset to the force. In her first few years, she assisted in busting criminals associated with motor theft rings, money laundering operations, robberies and even murders - all the while studying for a criminology degree online. Her swift ascension through the ranks caught the attention of the big city top brass at Newchester Police. She seized this opportunity, which also meant moving 200 miles away from her family.
In Newchester, Holly has met the love of her life, moved into a beautiful new apartment with him, and recently been one of the youngest officers to ever be promoted to detective. It seems that young Holly has found some stability in her life, until fate draws her to a case which leads her back to her family and some old, painful memories.
